Even thought homeschooling has gained much popularity in the last 10 years, there are still multitudes of enthusiasts that are still pro public schooling armed and ready to offer their principle to their region parent that has decided to homeschool. As with any grounds, there are two sides. I’m not here to convert you one and only way or another, regardless I’m here to present you with the facts and let you decide for yourself.

It’s not so hard to think of some of the apprehension that some people may have regarding home schooling.

Here are some of the popular reasons against home schooling:

1. Lack of Social Interaction:

This is the top of the heap concern with homeschooling. We live in a social world and social skills are hugely noteworthy in being able to successfully go through living. Kids who are isolated all weekdays long in their homes with little social interaction risk not knowing how to deal with ancillary congregations that are different than them or even know how to handle a conversation in a public environment.

2. Lack of Sanctioned Teachers:

Dads are enormous teachers of life, although are they suited to develop youth. Teachers in congregation schools understand and have gone through extensive education in advance of when they are approved to teach kids. Are parent’s created to effectively instruct their youngsters even though they are not state certified? A teacher goes through intensive training in college and has to pass all of the classes and student teaching necessary where as a parent usually has no training other than being a mom or a dad. Should this be allowed?

When trying to opt whether or not homeschooling is a path you want to go down, it’s good to speculate both sides of the fence. These are just a few of the arguments against homeschooling.

How much do you value the learning process?

I value formal education because it teaches you how to find answers to questions that come up throughout your life. It also serves as a social preparation tool since it teaches you how to get along with other people.

But formal education isn’t the only learning experience we receive. There’s the so-called “school of hard knocks” that everybody gets lessons from eventually, and the more planned curriculum of self-education that not everyone benefits from. You learn all through your life one way or another.

Consider these examples:

All mid-teen aged kids in America dream of getting a driver’s license when they turn 16. They must learn their state’s driving laws, and how to drive, before they can pass the driving test.

When you’re ready to get a job, start a business, or both. Your first obligation is learn how to do the work.

When you become a mother or father, you need knowledge about how to raise kids. This is a tough one…most of us learn this stuff the hard way, and I don’t think anyone ever learns how to become the perfect parent.

Just ask your kids.

Most formal education happens in school because parents can’t teach for various reasons. Though there is a large home-schooling environment today.

What you get from formal education is the ability to learn (or how to find the answers you need to satisfy your obligations in life).

Your true learning comes once you’re away from the formal learning, preferably in a self-education process. That’s where you teach yourself, it’s where you learn what you need to survive and succeed.

Figure out what most interests you – that activity you enjoy more than anything else – the thing you want to make (or honestly feel is) your life’s work.

Then teach yourself all about it on your own.

You only need read an hour each day about that one thing. You can read more than that if you like, but reading only one hour each day for one year makes you knowledgeable about that subject.

Read about one subject for one hour every day for five years, and the world respects you as an expert on that subject. When you’re an expert people seek you out for the answers. As an expert you’re a very important person.

All because you learned how to learn from your formal education, used that knowledge to create a self-education course, and put it to use.

What about that social thing I mentioned earlier? You learn how to get along with others (or not depending on how you use your lessons). This social education is easier to learn away from home, you have more people to study.

In school, and out in the world, watch the people around you. Observe how they act and learn the different ways that you can interact with them.

Learn the basics of social interaction from your parents at home. Then, at the mall or grocery, you see people shopping and the different ways they act. And finally in school you see all the behaviors of other students and teachers. From these experiences you develop your manners, or lack thereof. How you put these experiences to use benefits your success or failure.

Education comes in many forms. Start with the formal, and use that as a foundation for building your successful future with a solid self-education program.

And don’t waste the lessons you get from those “hard knock” opportunities.

Joseph Jackson retired at the early age of 46, and now travels in his recreational vehicle, hitting scuba, camping, and kayaking destinations for playtime.
He enjoys writing reports and books to pass on his experience and knowledge to help others succeed. He also searches for, and makes available, products that improve the enjoyment of his playtime activities.

creates a time crunch. Traditional schooling doesn’t allow much flexibility for students who have a particular talent or interest, such as acting. Many students who are also actors opt for a nontraditional alternative to education and turn to a distance learning program.

Many young actors find that in order to continue both their work as an actor and their schooling, they need to homeschool. Because they are busy working at their craft, they look to a quality distance learning program to help them meet their school requirements. Homeschooling frees an actor from the constraints of a traditional classroom. It allows the actor to follow the ebbs and flows of his work cycle and yet maintain progress toward high school graduation. It used to be that actors would employ tutors to work with them while they were on a set or involved in a particular show. While this is still an option, many actors prefer to rely on distance learning classes.

In the past, actors have led isolated lives. They are working professionals at a young age and while they thrive in that environment, it doesn’t usually offer them much in the way of interaction with their peers. Having a tutor can compound that problem, and can isolate the actor even more. Distance learning homeschool classes can offer an opportunity for an actor to be involved with an online learning community. A distance learning homeschool can offer a classroom community and can also offer an opportunity for a student to participate in extracurricular activities. An actor could conceivably be involved in clubs or a student run newspaper through his distance learning school, thereby creating for him a sense of community he wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.

A distance learning homeschool program allows a learning program to be tailored to the individual. An actor might find himself with six months off between jobs and he might want to concentrate on accelerating his studies for those six months. An actor might want to try to condense his time in school, earning a high school degree in three years instead of four. Or, if an actor is particularly busy, he may well want to slow down his high school classes and earn a degree in five or six years, instead of the traditional four. The flexibility of a distance learning homeschool program is important to many actors.

A distance learning homeschool can be a great educational choice for an actor. It can afford flexibility of scheduling and in the length of time it takes to complete a high school degree. It can offer an online community of learners the actor’s own age, allowing collaboration and communication with learners involved in similar situations. An online distance learning homeschool can offer the structure needed by some actors to stay on task and to work toward completing a high school degree, while continuing to work at their craft.
